“Pomergranates Gone Wild”

Artist’s Statement:
As "Pomegranates Gone Wild!" was being created, the pomegranates seemed to take on a life of their own - flying off the framework in all directions, scattering their tasty and lovely seeds as they partied. The simplicity of this creation mirrors the modern and clean lines of the IKEA style. The front of this piece is made from three different IKEA fabrics. I machine drew with variegated orange thread through the first three layers and embellished with orange and red beads through the fourth layers. Enjoy!
This quilt was created as part of Project Patchwork, a partnership between IKEA and Textile Center. Artists were challenged to make an art quilt using only IKEA fabrics.
